Just a quick overview on the series so far, I’m all the way up till episode 8 right now. The whole drama series is very entertaining and I’m very much in love with the characters. ESPECIALLY SHARON. She just got introduced in episode 7 and I’d have to say I do like her very much. (MAYBE BECAUSE SHE’S PRETTY?) Haha, that made me sound like a male didn’t it? But nah, I’m a girl and girls do like pretty stuff. Okay, joke aside, I do find their court trials really interesting and I do love to see how the lawyers, mainly Kevin and Myolie fight the case. I am now waiting to see how the story develops. I can’t wait for more cases :DD Up till now, I do give this series ‘⋆⋆⋆⋆⋆’ If you have nothing to do during this holidays, HECK, even if you DO have something to do during this holiday, do give this series a chance, you will NOT regret it J

Below are some screen caps of Sharon's appearance:

I only have four words to say about these pictures: 好靓女啊~♥

Ghetto Justice Episode Three: Part 1

The episode started with a latest trial on Uncle Gen’s case. Sadly, Uncle Gen was not able to come to court because he previously committed suicide and was still weak. Myolie took this as a chance to gloat. Thankfully, Kevin gave a comeback and Myolie looked super pissed, HAHAHA.

Myolie: I’m not gloating over your misfortune but your client is not on court, do you think the members of the jury will feel that he committed suicide because he was guilty?

Kevin: Or maybe they will think that Uncle Gen tried to die to show his innocence? ;)

    Myolie: ….

The defence lawyer then questions the first witness, which is Chun Sang. Chun sang claims that his sister was definitely not Mr.Ma’s mistress. In fact, he said that it was just Mr.Ma who kept on confessing to Chau Ping and chasing after her. However, Chau Ping always rejected him.

Then he said that Mrs.Ma thought that Chau Ping was going out with Mr.Ma and asked her out and tried to give her a cheque, when Chau Ping refused and tried to explain, Mrs. Ma slapped her. Then, Mrs Ma threatened Chau Ping and from then on, Chau Ping kept receiving letters with scary pictures of girls getting raped.

Myolie then goes and questions Chun Sang. She asks him whether the slapping of Chau Ping and other incidents were witnessed by him in person. Chun Sang argues back with the calls of harassment and letters of threat. However, Myolie fights back by asking Chun Sang what the police told him about the letters. Chun Sang replies in defeat that the police did not find Mrs Ma’s fingerprints on any of the letters, but he still believes Mrs Ma is the one who caused Chau Ping’s death.

And now, for one of the highlights of in court:

Myolie: That means that everything that you said just now are just what you’ve heard from your sister and what you’ve inferred. You don’t have any concrete proof, am I right?

Chun Sang: Ever since my sister took on the job, I’ve seen her lack in energy day by day. She lost a lot of weight and she had to consume sleeping pills EVERY NIGHT. She lost 10+ pounds in merely a month. These aren’t ‘ Legendary Statements’, are they?

Myolie: Have you ever thought that those calls and letters of harassment could be from colleagues who did not like her? Or maybe she offended some other people outside? Of course she would not want to tell you these things, so she just fabricated some excuses to accuse my client.

Chun Sang: I’ve been close to my sister since I was young. My sister will NOT lie to me.

Myolie: Since you make the deceased sound so innocent, then why did she not quit? Once she quit, everything would be over, isn’t it?

Chun Sang: My sister is very stubborn. She said that if she just quit after being threatened, it would be equivalent to admitting that she was the third party. But the most important thing is that she was in charge of a very big project, if completed, it would be a great help for her in looking for a job in future, so she wanted to finish the project first.

Myolie: Then have you ever thought that the project would not be good in such working conditions?

Chun Sang: I did tell her the same thing..

Myolie: SO that means you also did suspect what your sister said right?

    Chun Sang: I..

Myolie: Your honour, I have nothing more to say.

Whereas I thought that was an amazing display, Kevin’s segment of the case was what totally took me over. Get ready to be WOW-ed ;)

Kevin: Mr Sheung Chun Sang, you talked about how your sister got bullied just now. Why don’t you talk about what kind of a person your sister was so that the judge and members of the jury can have a better understanding of her.

Chun Sang: Our family was poor since we were young. Dad died at a young age, so my sister had to hold up the entire family and take care of me and Mom. My sister was very capable, even though she had to support the family, she still insisted on studying. Even though she had to take up multiple part time jobs and could only sleep for a few hours per day, she still managed to obtain a scholarship to university. After she graduated from university, she went into Ma Ching’s company to work. She worked very hard, staying back for OT every night in the hopes of getting promoted and having a raise in salary just so she could send me abroad to study.

At this point in time, even Myolie is affected.

Chun Sang: From the start to the end, my sister only wanted to rely on herself to do her work, she never thought of betraying herself. Even if Ma Ching gave her bags, cars and apartments, she did not accept any of them.

Kevin: Just now you mentioned, you advised your sister to give up the project and her job, what did she say then?

Chun Sang: My sister said the project would be completed in at most half a month, as long as she persevered for just another half a month, the skies would be bright again. But who would guess that she could not even wait for this day, she’ll never be able to see daylight again…

Kevin: Your honour, I have nothing more to ask.

Myolie is affected, Kevin is sneaking a peek at her.. x)

Even the members of the jury are looking affected, WAY TO GO KEVIN<3 :D

Myolie is definitely affected, partially because her family background is similar to Chau Ping’s. Later at the Cofee house, she is complaining about L.A Law (Kevin) when she sees him with the other lawyers, boasting about what happened in the past 7 years in which he disappeared.

She is definitely not pleased.. x)

    To be continued...

    Ghetto Justice Episode Two

It is in this episode that the first 'big' case of the drama appears. First, a girl called 'Sheung Chau Ping' (Jeanette Leung) falls from a high building with a knife stabbed into her chest and Kevin witnesses it.

    kinda scary huh?

And then, something unexpected happened! *gasp* Well, it was actually expected because they do show you in the preview.. The thing is, the Uncle Gen that Kevin helped in the previous episode (Yes, that dog one) ends up standing there and looking real scared.

He really does look freaked :/

Then, he admits to killing her. Kevin of course, goes to the rescue and they end up at the police station together. Under the interrogation of the police, Uncle Gen admits to killing Chau Ping, stating that she was a worker of the company his lady boss owns. The twist here however, is that he says his lady boss called him and asked him to kill Chau Ping because she suspected she had an affair with her husband.

However, not even 2 seconds after Uncle Gen's confession, he suddenly claims that he has forgotten everything, repeating incessantly that his boss Mrs. Ma (Claire Yiu) treats him very well and that he does not know anything. Of course, the police take in his first statement on Mrs.Ma in consideration and this kick starts some sort of a scandal.

Uncle Gen talking about Mrs Ma. Doesn't he look agitated?

Mrs.Ma gets surrounded by news reporters. Myolie takes this as a chance to be Mrs Ma's lawyer by fending off the reporters.

Myolie eventually clinches the job as Mrs. Ma's representing lawyer. She's very happy as she believes that this is her chance to shine.

First screen cap where she's smiling~

Well, so Kevin is representing Uncle Gen and Myolie is representing Mrs Ma. Kevin the goes and looks for the victim Chau Ping's brother as he sees him making a fuss in the police station claiming that it is Mrs. Ma who killed his sister.

    Chau Ping's brother, Chun Sang

On the first court case, Myolie and Kevin both plead not guilty for their clients and the case is set on a further date. However, when the judge said that Mrs.Ma could not be put on bail and had to be kept in the Women's prison, she refused and had a heart attack. Uncle Gen looked really concerned..or anxious??

Mrs Ma saying she doesn't want to be kept in prison

Uncle Gen looks really guilty in the first screen cap. But what about.. the second?

Uncle Gen keeps insisting that he did it because Mrs Ma treated him really nice and that he could not take the fact that Mr.Ma's affair was hurting Mrs Ma so much, and thats why he went to scare Chau Ping. Kevin suspects something else though..

Kevin asks Uncle Gen to tell the truth

Meanwhile, because Uncle Gen is part of the neighbourhood Myolie lives in, the neighbours are dissing her. Her mother stands up for her in front of the neighbour but later on tells Myolie that she hopes Myolie will not betray her conscience in this case. Myolie promises her mother.

Later on, Uncle Gen commits suicide in the prison. Luckily, he failed. At first, everyone thinks he did it out of guilt for pushing the blame onto Mrs Ma, who treats him very well. However, it is later on revealed that before he committed suicide, Mrs Ma's personal assistant went to visit him...

What a twist huh? With this, Kevin is more determined to find out the real truth behind everything. Is Mrs Ma really as nice as she seems??

    Ghetto Justice Episode One
The series starts off with Kevin. At the start, I thought he was a bum of some sort. He sleeps in till 3pm and his sole reason for waking up seems to be the egg tarts that come out fresh from the oven at 3pm daily. His dressing is nothing to boot and he seems as slipshod as can be. However, that does not change the fact that he is a good person. When he saw that someone nearly got fined for 'letting his dog poop anywhere', he went up to help. Well of course, he wasn't helping blindly. The dog was in fact a stray dog. This then incurred the wrath of the police officer, and the police officer asked Kevin to show his identity card and for his occupation. Kevin then replied that he was a barrister. The police officer took one look at Kevin from head to toe and came to a conclusion that he was impersonating a lawyer. This scene gained a chuckle or two from me, especially the way the policeman scrutinized Kevin with the look of disbelief. XD

Well, I believe this episode was definitely an introduction to the series because the main case was a small case that was solved within the episode itself. It basically clears everything for the audience because it shows how Kevin is one that fights for the benefits of the people of sham shui po. Go Kevin~ J

Myolie is also introduced in by this episode. She is also a barrister; however, she seems to be more practical. A perfect example of this would be in a court case, where she let this famous barrister fight his case first by pretending that her assistant forgot to prepare some files in the hopes of being able to be acquainted with him. Myolie’s background in the drama is pretty similar to Kevin and this is also the reason why she used to see him as her idol. She has never seen him before and in actual fact, she only saw the Kevin from 7 years ago as an idol – because his cases were fought incredibly and he was legend in the legal world. Towards the end of the episode however, she sees the Kevin now and has a great dislike for him. Because Kevin and his friends were having a spitting contest and his seed landed on her shirt. XD

Here are some of the funny screen caps I did specially for all of you J

TVB's Ghetto Justice is one of the first new series I've embarked on this holidays. I'm currently up to episode 4 and it is pretty satisfactory.

Initially, I wasn't too keen on watching the series but after searching on the net and finding some favorable response, I decided to give it a try. Sure enough, it didn't disappoint me. I would definitely recommended it up to this point, especially to those who have a thing for legal/crime dramas.

I will be posting more in depth details and some of my thoughts per episode as soon as I'm done with the episodes I have at hand.

In case you guys don't know much about the drama, here's the synopsis:

Law Lik-ah (Kevin Cheng) used to practice law for personal fame and glory but after setting up a Legal Advice Centre with his cousin George Mai (Alex Lam) and his good friend Tin Ka-fu (Sam Lee) in Sham Shui Po, Lik-ah changes his mind and realizes that legal representation is not only a privilege of the rich.

Soon, Lik-ah becomes the Peoples’ Hero of Sham Shui Po, helping grassroots groups fight against injustice with unconventional tactics.

On the other hand, barrister Wong Si-fu (Myolie Wu), who used to admire Lik-ah for his invincible performances, starts to disdain him for downgrading to a ghetto lawyer. However, after a few court cases with him, the two start to appreciate each other and fall in love.

Besides succeeding in her relationship, Si-fu tries to become an elite practitioner in town. In order to gain advancement, she seizes every chance to get close to the renowned barrister Cheung Pak-kei (Shek Sau). As Pak-kei enjoys getting people into trouble, he makes sure Si-fu is accidentally embroiled in a lawsuit.

In order to save Si-fu, Lik-ah has no choice but to challenge the law.
